A GREAT Triple Bass Clarinet Case

First, I did not get an eco leather case, but the regular cloth material case. This was due to availability and stock on hand, and is NOT an error made by Corbin Clarinet Products. And to be clear, there is NO differences between eco leather and non-eco leather cases aside from the outer covering.

Second, the case that I received was the original design that includes two flexible insert trays for additional instruments. The case has since been redesigned, and the new design is just as fantastic.

This case is truly amazing in its flexibility to hold not just a low C bass clarinet, but two other clarinets as well. Based on my particular needs, and what I carry as usual equipment and extras, I can only fit one addition clarinet in the case--my plateau Bb. Because I use a Royal Global Firebird wood bell, I removed one of the included insert tray to allow the bell to lay flat. I removed the other insert tray for the pateau clarinet, placing each joint in a Reed and Squeak protective tube, barrels and the barrels and bell in protective pouches. Using the spacer blocks, all items fit snugly and secure without pressure on the joints. Now this is my configuration, and it works well for me. But...the case is flexible for other configurations to fit the needs of all clarinet players.

I do have a few minor issues that Reed and Squeak can easily correct, and none would have prevented me from buying this case. First, the top handle is on the back of the case, and could be relocated to the end of the case for easier access. Second, there are no protective feet on the bottom end of the case, or on the back. This is not a necessity, but would help prevent wear of the case material. Finally, when fully loaded, closing the case and zip[ping it closed is a bit difficult. there are two possible solutions--making some of the protective foam lining not so thick, or even better, making the outer case cover a bit larger to allow a bit more slack. Either would work well.

This case is far superior compared to similar cases by other companies, and is at the perfect price point--not overly expensive and properly priced for the instruments that it holds. Highly recommended, and Corbin Clarinet Products is the go-to for all things Reed and Squeal in North America. On a related note, the service provided by Brian Corbin and the entire staff at Corbin Clarinet Products is second to none. Brian is very professional, patient, takes time to answer questions, and provides an overall great experience. I personally look forward to my continued relationship with Brian and his staff.
