The Royal Global adjustable barrel features an innovative patented adjusting system combining a premium aged grenadilla wood bore, Royal's proprietary ECO-wood material, and a new, heavier brass internal mechanism selected for its superior acoustical properties and longevity. This combination allows for a more durable, crack-resistant barrel that is easy to maintain. By manufacturing the top section and bore with grenadilla wood and the base with the new grenadilla ECO wood, the Royal Global adjustable barrel maintains a wooden bore that helps achieve the warm, rich, vibrant tone with depth. Choose the Corbin Traditional Bore for a slightly larger bore with a Moennig-style taper for a centered, colorful and focused tone with more upper partials compared to the stock bore.
Upgraded in 2025 to a new brass alloy internal mechanism, adjusting the weight and balance of the barrel and increasing the longevity of the mechanism.

The Polaris Adjustable Barrel is outstanding. I used to carry 4 barrels for my A and Bb clarinets. Now, with the ability to turn the center ring this is all I need. Tuning is quick and easy. In addition, it blows easier and produces a bigger sound than my other barrels. I have better control when playing quiet (piano) to playing loud (forte).

I like the Royal Global Polaris adjustable barrel a lot. It has a nice sound and tunes well at every adjustment level. I’m glad I have it.
Your Polaris now replaces my Behn adustable. I play a pair of R-13's from 1986 and 1992. The sound with your barrel is very secure and on the dark side, which is what I like these days. It's more comparable to my Chadash 66mm, but that barrel certainly gives pitch problems in the throat when pulled out a bit. It's why I have come to appreciate adjustable ones. Beautifully made too!
