ONYX Bass Clarinet Mouthpiece

The ONYX is our most popular bass clarinet mouthpiece. Utilizing premium German rod rubber and based on our own Custom A-frame blank, we CNC mill these mouthpieces but maintain the machine finish on the exterior of the mouthpiece. This gives it a matte finish compared to the smooth, glossy appearance of the extensively hand-finished Custom and marbled hard rubber mouthpieces. 

Our standard 1.82mm tip opening and long facing is applied to our ONYX moutpieces. This gives a large, colorful sound that projects across the hall with a recommended 3 - 3.5 strength reed recommended. Brian uses Vandoren Traditional reeds as a baseline, but most reeds work well.
